The European REACH regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) entered in force on 1st June 2007 in the European Union (regulation No.1907/2006).

It was adopted for better protection of human health and the environment and to strengthen the knowledge on chemicals by encouraging communication between the actors in the supply chain, by limiting tests on vertebrates and by initiating the sharing of data by industry.

REACH establishes procedures to collect and assess information on the properties and hazards of chemicals.

The ECHA (European chemicals agency) receives and assesses individual registrations to check that they comply with the legislation, and the EU member states assess certain substances chosen to clarify the initial concerns for human health or for the environment.

A hazardous substance may be prohibited by the authorities if the risks it presents cannot be controlled. The authorities can also decide to restrict use or to subject it to prior authorisation.

As a manufacturer of industrial lubricants, MOLYDAL sells only preparations that do not require registration, and considered as a downstream user, it ensures that the substances used in its formulations comply with REACH regulations.

Safety data sheets (SDS) are an essential element for circulating information within the supply chain up to the end user (professional user).

This tool ensures that manufacturers and importers communicate the necessary information all along the supply chain to guarantee the safe use of substances and mixtures.
